Liz Gibbons is a yoga teacher and therapy intern whose approach to counseling is deeply rooted in her own healing journey. After a painful car accident, she turned to yoga as a gentle way to reintroduce movement—but soon discovered that the practice was nourishing her mental and spiritual health in ways that reached far beyond physical recovery.
This transformative experience eventually led Liz to Rishikesh, India, where she completed her 200-hour teacher training through 7 Chakras Yoga School. There, she embraced yoga as a holistic lifestyle, recognizing that meditation, philosophy, and connection to nature are just as essential as the physical postures. She hopes to share this all-encompassing definition of yoga with her students, nurturing a deeper connection to the self.
Since she began teaching in 2023, Liz has also completed Cityoga’s 50-hour Somatics and Trauma-Informed Teacher Training, and she maintains a regular somatic yoga practice that informs her classes.
As a therapy intern, Liz brings her trauma-informed, holistic perspective to her counseling work with clients. She is studying marriage and family therapy and offers therapy for individuals, couples, and families.
As a Chinese adoptee and member of Beyond Adopteen, she has intimate and personal experience with issues around adoption, identity, and complicated family dynamics.
Above all, Liz is honored to create a space where people can heal—and have fun along the way.
